My large format camera (which will look like this when it's done) is nearing completion, so I had to buy a lens for it. I had my eye on a bargain online, but decided to check the local stores to see what they had, and found a nice Fuji which I now own.

For some reason, almost all my lenses are Japanese; the sole exceptions are an elderly Kodak and one of my enlarging lenses. I can't tell if this is due to positive qualities regarding Japanese construction (high quality, reasonable price) or negative qualities regarding the German competition (ludicrously high quality at an equally ludicrous price).
